Designed for the Aurora
Glass Roof Viewing
It can get cold outside in the Arctic. Havila ships feature the incredible “Havblikk” Lounge with a massive glass roof, allowing you to watch the Northern Lights in warmth and comfort with a hot drink in hand.
Silent Sailing
Havila’s ships run on massive battery packs, allowing them to sail silently through the fjords for hours. There is no engine vibration and no noise—just you, the silence of the ocean, and the lights above.

Common Questions
When is the best time for Northern Lights?
The best time is from late September to late March. The darkest months (November to February) give you the longest nights and the best chance to see the Aurora.
How do I know if the lights are out?
You don’t need to stay awake all night! The ship’s crew monitors the sky 24/7. You can turn on an “Aurora Alert” in your cabin, and they will wake you up if the lights appear.
